FAQs

Answers to what people usually ask before their first session — if yours isn’t here, just get in touch.

Does kinesiology hurt?

No, sessions are gentle and non-invasive. You stay fully clothed on a treatment table while Tiffany uses light muscle monitoring to check in with your body; the techniques used (acupressure points, flower essences, sound, gentle bodywork) are calm rather than physically demanding. It’s closer to a relaxation session than a remedial treatment. Sometimes acupoints can be tender due to an acumulation of energy however this usually dissipaits quickly as the points are gently held.

Is kinesiology evidence-based? How does it actually work?

Kinesiology is evidence-based and sits in the complementary health space, not conventional medicine. It isn’t a substitute for medical care, and Tiffany doesn’t diagnose, treat or cure any condition (please see your doctor for any medical concerns). What it does is use gentle muscle monitoring as a feedback tool to help identify where stress is sitting in the body, so the session can be tailored to what’s actually going on for you rather than a fixed protocol. You don’t need to “believe in it” for it to be worth trying.

I’m a bit skeptical / this is my first time. Is that okay?

Completely normal! Most people arrive a little nervous or unsure about what to expect. Tiffany is very welcoming and every session starts with a chat about what’s going on for you, how kinesiology works and what a session involves. All questions are welcome! Read the full first-timer guide →

How many sessions will I need?

This is different for everyone and completely up to you. Some people feel a shift after one session; others use the 3-session pack to work through something with more layers. After experiencing the benefits of kinesiology, many clients choose to have regular sessions to maintain their desired state of being. Some clients come fortnightly, monthly, seasonally or simply book in as issues arise.

What should I wear? Do I need to prepare anything?

Loose, comfortable clothing is best, you stay fully clothed throughout, and different muscles are monitored during the session. Hydration is important to get clear feedback from your body, so please drink some water before your session.

Are health fund rebates available?

From 1 April 2019, all Private Health Funds ceased to provide benefits for Kinesiology services and many other natural therapies, due to changes to Section 121-10 of the Private Health Insurance Act 2007. Card, cash, direct deposit and gift vouchers are all accepted.

What’s your cancellation policy?

Free to cancel or reschedule with more than 24 hours’ notice. Inside 24 hours, a 50% fee applies.

Can I buy a gift voucher for someone else?

Yes, eGift vouchers are available to purchase online. A great option if someone’s curious but hasn’t booked in yet. Paper vouchers are also available, contact Tiffany by phone or in person to arrange one. See gift voucher options →

Do you offer sessions outside the listed days?

Yes! Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday are the regular session days but other times may be available on request, just get in touch if you can't find an available time in the online booking system.

What can kinesiology help with?

People come to Tiffany dealing with stress, worry, overwhelm, low self-esteem, feeling stuck, big life changes, or just wanting to feel more energised, grounded and more like themselves. You don't have to have anything 'wrong' with you to benefit from kinesiology. Some people come to align their energy with an aspiration, opportunity or for personal growth and development. It is a wonderful modality to help you live life more fully and with greater ease and flow.

How will I feel after a session?

Many people feel calm, clear and light after a session. Everyone is unique. You may feel inspired, motivated and energised, ready to take on the world or perhaps sleepy, tender or introspective, ready for a nap! You may have emotions come to the surface ready to be expressed... you might feel out of sorts for a day or two. Sleep may be deep and restful or you might dream vividly and process overnight. Sometimes you may feel worse before you feel better. You may feel grounded and content, yet on the rare occasion, a powerful catharsis is experienced. Everyone responds differently to energy work. Please use your favourite self care practices and reach out if you feel concerned or anything feels too much.

Kinesiologists do not treat, diagnose or cure. Please see your doctor for any medical concerns.
